The Sibling Leadership Network is dedicated to advancing causes important to the millions of siblings of people who have disabilities. The more members we have, the greater impact we will have.
Joining the SLN is easy: Just fill out the below form, click send, and you’re a member! As needed, we’ll contact you from time to time regarding initiatives, policy decisions, and sibling related-events that we think are important to brothers and sisters. Although we don’t charge anyone to become a member of the SLN, we accept donations to support the work of the SLN. (This mailing list is different than the SibNet Yahoogroup and Facebook group that the SLN cosponsors. For more information about SibNet, please see details below!)
UPDATE 12/14/2011- The Arc and the Sibling Leadership Network have formed a partnership to connect siblings as an important segment of the disability movement to impact policy, service delivery, and the quality of life for the millions of Americans with I/DD. It also seeks to provide the necessary support to siblings who are looking for resources and answers to questions unique to them and their family’s future.
And while you’re at it, please join us on SibNet!! Cosponsored by the Sibling Support Project and SLN, SibNet is the Internet’s first and largest Yahoogroup and Facebook group for adult brothers and sisters from around the world. SibNet is a remarkably caring and open-minded community where you can share your unique joys and concerns with others who truly “get it.” It’s also a forum where you can learn about legislation, services and how to advocate for (and maybe with!) your sibling who has a disability. Joining is easy, just click here .
Please check out The Arc’s “I am a Sibling Page” for more information on The Arc/SLN partnership here.
Finally, don’t forget to “like” the SLN on Facebook here!
